The following is the top portion of a webpage I'm working on right now:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta name="keywords" content="allegiance" />
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" />
<title>Rock Raider&acute;s Sad Little Allegiance Homepage - Index</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://www.allegiance.rockraiderontheweb.pcriot.com/style.css" type="text/css" />
<meta name="description" content="The home for Allegiance on ROTW" />
</head>
I think I've spelled everything correctly and made it as obvious as possible that my stylesheet is where I said it is, but when I go to view the page, the styling I defined in the CSS page does not show up. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
